不同濕球溫度條件下,冷卻水塔可以提供的水溫並不相同,上面的圖是假設水塔的趨近溫度為4度來預設因為冷卻水溫變化可能導致的主機功率變化.
某些條件下,有些冰水主機並無法以如此低的水溫運轉,因此必須付出較多的電費做代價.而在某些情況下,設備的冷凍負載也不會像圖上所指出的,在不同的季節有相同的冷凍負載.
如此做的目的是將比較的基準拉平,也就是以冷凍負載RT為基準,比較不同水溫下主機可能的省電效率做為設備操作人員的參考.真實的情形下必須考慮整個系統的互動.
也就是說包含整個冰水系統的零件都是互動的變數,比如主機,水塔,泵浦的操作點在那裏,最後才能計算出整個系統的運轉效率.
